IAC 2023 Baku Celebrates Exciting Milestone: 100 Days to Go
Excitement mounts for the return of the International Astronautical Congress to Baku, Azerbaijan - just 100 days to go. Preparations are now well under way for what promises to be an exciting and memorable event from 2nd October through 6th October.
While preparations for the 74th IAC are progressing at a rapid pace, IAF Executive Director, Dr. Christian Feichtinger said that “it’s going to be an amazing event”, acknowledging the readiness of the Host Organization of the Congress, Azercosmos and growing excitement in global space community.
Dr. Feichtinger said: “I am certain the IAC in Baku will be the highlight of the year for the entire space community, with an exciting programme full of high-level speakers and inspiring conversations. The IAF also looks forward to celebrating its prestigious awardees at the IAC, including Elon Musk and the James Webb Space Telescope Team, receiving the IAF World Space Award during the IAC Opening Ceremony.”
Celebrating today’s milestone, Samaddin Asadov, Chairman of Azercosmos, said: “The much-anticipated 74th International Astronautical Congress, the largest business event in Azerbaijan, is only 100 days away. We kick off the countdown with laying the foundation for the Exhibition Pavilion to host sponsors and exhibitors at the area of 8,000 m2 which will be specifically assembled for this event. Exhibition space is selling out so fast and almost gone – this incredible!”
Another great success of preparations towards the global scientific event in space field is an impressive number of abstracts submitted for the IAC 2023 – more than 3,600 abstracts from 95 countries.
Samaddin Asadov highlighted that the IAC 2023 in Baku “promises to be one of the most diverse ever in the IAC history and we look forward to welcoming all authors of research papers in our stunning capital city in October.”
“I am thrilled to announce that registration to the World’s Premier Space Event is increasing pretty quickly and more than 50% of the all applicants are ambitious young people from around the world. I believe that the Congress in Baku will be a bridge to their long-term career and to inspire youth to pursue their dreams and achieve their goals,” – continued Samaddin Asadov urging everyone to join the IAC 2023 which will be a truly global celebration of outstanding developments in space.
The 74th IAC will provide a platform to highlight and discuss challenges, actions and advice on hot space topics as well as to make critical business connections and allow to build collaborations on a regional and international levels.
